Computer Security Systems Specialist (Lead)
Qualifiers:
· Clearance: Secret with Top Secret/SCI Eligibility
· Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level III – CASP CE or CCNP Security or CISA
Work Location: Onsite, Fort Belvoir, VA
Typically, the Computer Security Systems Specialist will be responsible for these and similar duties:
· Identifies, prepares, and updates cybersecurity artifacts for engineering installation plans.
· Delivers Cyber Security artifacts; Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) checklist, internetwork operating systems versions, and Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M).
· Deliver subject matter expertise in support of cybersecurity and RMF requirements.
· Identifies, prepares, and updates cybersecurity artifacts for engineering installation plans.
· Process systems for authorization using RMF process in accordance with Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication 199 and 200, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications 800-53, 800-59, 800-60, 800-137, and other DoD and Army regulations/guidance as required.
· Translate security policies, implementation guidance, and requirements into cybersecurity engineering implementation and develop solutions for the customer’s systems.
· Provide professional technical engineering services as they relate to the customer’s IT systems.
· Verify the addition of hardware or software to the enterprise network are designed and configured in accordance with current DoD/Army cybersecurity policy and more specifically the DoD RMF requirements as specified in DODI 8510.01.
· Verify that the system/network is prepared to undergo Assess and Authorize (A&A) activities.
· Support all Cybersecurity A&A activities related to the system/network by providing the appropriate required RMF documentation/artifacts to include but not limited, network device configurations, STIG checklists, topology/diagrams, specified system documentation.
Requirements:
Required Experience / Qualifications (Must Have):
· Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI Eligibility.
· Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance (IA), or relevant IT degree with a significant amount of coursework related to cybersecurity. An additional four (4) years of relevant experience allowed in lieu of a degree.
· Experience: 10-plus years cybersecurity or information assurance experience, with at least two (2) years leading cyber or IA personnel or teams.
· Knowledgeable of DoD/Army cybersecurity regulations and guidance.
· Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level III – CASP CE or CCNP Security or CISA.
Preferred Experience / Qualifications (Nice to Have):
· Supported the U.S. Army or other DoD / Federal Agency.
· Has the communication skills to effectively interface with senior military officials, managers, and subordinates.
· Certifications and/or experience in Zero Trust
· Active US Government Clearance at Secret level or higher
· Ability to sit for extended periods of time
· Ability to regularly lift at least 25 pounds
· Ability to commute to the designated onsite work location as required
